- Take some string (or floss, or strip of paper etc) and wrap it around the base of your finger.
- Mark where the string (or floss, or paper etc) first overlaps.
- Stretch the length of string (or floss, or paper etc) along a ruler or measuring tape and note the length in millimetres.
