We’re kicking off our Employee Spotlight series with our fabulous Store Manager, Sharon! Grab yourself a brew and settle in to find out a bit more about Sharon’s Say it with Diamonds’ journey.
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about your role at Say it with Diamonds?
I am Sharon, the manager here at SIWD! My role includes a lot of different things such as customer service, target awareness, developing and training staff, rotas, holidays, helping with the running of the website, and just general running of the shop - to make sure SIWD is the best jewellery shop around!
Q: Can you describe yourself in three words?
Very committed, loyal, and hardworking.
Q: What's the best thing about working for SIWD?
The thing I love about SIWD is watching us grow as a business for the last two years - which has been amazing. I love that we are not a typical jewellery shop as we have a more relaxed and friendly relationship with our customers. There is something for everybody's budget, and we go above and beyond to look after each customer. Plus, we have a fabulous, loyal, and hardworking team.
Q: Do you have a favourite SIWD piece?
My favourite piece would be our 18ct White Gold 1.50 Carat High Set Ring. This has always been my dream ring.
Q: Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I have been with my husband since I was 15 years old.
Q: Have you got a favourite customer story?
I love to do a bespoke item's sale from start to finish; bringing the customer's vision to life and giving that overall SIWD experience. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on the customer's face when they have their dream piece of jewellery.
Q: Do you have any advice for people who want to follow in your footsteps?
As I have been a manager for over 20 years, I feel I have gained a lot of experience. You have to be dedicated to your job, have a real passion and good work ethic, deliver fantastic customer service, target awareness, get on well with your team, and be the best you can be. As a manager, you also need to be able to delegate, be organised, be approachable, and run the shop on a day-to-day basis.
